Bomb Sniffing Dogs Not Tested Properly…What?

WASHINGTON – (AP/Fox News)  The State Department’s inspector general said Friday that bomb-sniffing dogs in Afghanistan and Iraq aren’t being tested properly and may not be able to effectively detect explosives. The inspector general’s review found that the companies hired to supply and train the animals weren’t testing them for all of the scents of the most commonly encountered explosives, increasing the chance of a dog missing a bomb in a vehicle or luggage. KENNEL CLUB OF PHILADELPHIA’S ANNUAL CLUSTER DEBUTS SIX NEW BREEDS

Oaks/Valley Forge, PA — Six new American Kennel Club-sanctioned breeds will be making their Kennel Club of Philadelphia debut this November as part of the club’s annual cluster of dog shows. The Kennel Club of Philadelphia’s shows are on Saturday, November 20 and Sunday, November 21 at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center in Oaks, PA. As part of the cluster, the six new breeds will be introduced to the American public during “The National Dog Show Presented by Purina,” which is taped on Saturday, November 20 and aired as a two-hour NBC special immediately following the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.  A total audience of some 20 million viewers is expected to watch the broadcast. Jeff here – from my experience with Butch I know that it is important to watch his weight as pets, like humans can suffer many health issues later in life from being overweight! Butch’s mother “Buttons” is prone to this problem and I have to keep an eye on what my Dad is feeding here and how much. This is a good article.
